Blogger inspiration: Cupcakes and Cashmere

I've always loved reading blogs and one of the first ones I really fell in love with was Cupcakes and Cashmere. It wasn't the first blog I encountered but definitely the first one I felt was easy to read and the overall style was relatable.

A couple years ago I had tried to put together an inspiration "board" of sorts on my computer. I had chosen a few of Emily's outfits to compile into that but never got around to doing anything with them. So I decided to put them on here to be able to look at them whenever I'm in a rut.

Since I did this a while back these are more of her older outfits, but I still love them! Apparently I'm a big fan of layering, jackets and awesome shoes.

Just the way you are

Love love love everything about this. Gotta admit Olivia Palermo always looks so put together. And her new haircut! I have serious hair envy.

Snug

Now that I'm done with all my summer classes I feel like I can officially get excited for fall. Though I've already been bundling up a bit, receiving the Free People catalog in the mail made me want to layer up with all their cozy, chic pieces. So of course I had to go downtown to stop by the recently opened store (definitely got distracted by their so-me jewelry items).

Flipping through their lookbook online also inspired me to pair thick, chunky sweaters with lighter, flowier pieces and laced, grungy boots (and of course, decking it all out with tons of intricate accessories).

Cold perfection

This has been out for a while, but I'm still obsessed with this editorial Megan Fox did for Interview Magazine. I love how the coldness and mannequin-ness of the shoot exemplifies Megan's own personality. Definitely one of my favorite celebrity photoshoots this year.

Kate Beckinsale in tulle

I'm a huge fan of Kate Beckinsale, and these photos of her at the Robin Hood premiere blew me away! Her light blue, tulle gown is by Marchesa (of course) and she couldn't have chosen a better dress. (All that tulle makes me go crazy!)

Always and Forever 21

I was recently on the Forever 21 website, and I always like to look at their "Shop by Outfit" section. There were four outfits which I loved how they were put together. It honestly made me want to buy each item of clothing from head to toe! I especially love the chunky magenta cardigan, the plaid romper (though usually I hate rompers), the long sweater, the sequined vest, and the Fifi Lapin sweater shirt. I've actually ordered a few things online...will share once they arrive.

I love this blog since it's great inspiration. Their snappy photos and quick updates never fail to interest me. It's currently making me lust over some bright shoes and bags. Though seeing that I have a wedding to go to this weekend I'm going to have to go for some more practical footwear.

Designers on Sesame Street

I recently looked through the September issue of Bazaar and came across what became one of my favorite spreads. The theme is Designers on Sesame Street, and it is all kinds of lovely. I think I'm missing two pages, but the rest are here. It features some of my favorite designers too, which is always a plus. (And wow, way to make me obsess even more over the boots I posted here).
